(OVID TOWNSHIP) – A charge have been brought against a Quincy man following a two vehicle crash Friday in Branch County's Ovid Township.
Michigan State Police with the Marshall Post say troopers were called to East Central Road near Smith Road at 10:30 Friday night. The driver of one of the vehicles, 39 year old Ryan Kiomento of Quincy was arrested on a charge of operating under the influence of liquor causing serious injury, after his vehicle struck another automobile.
According to troopers, the driver of the second vehicle, a 25 year old woman, was flown from the scene to Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo. Her passengers, a 28 year old man and a 7 year old boy, were also taken to Bronson Hospital by Life Care Ambulance. Helping at the scene was the Lakeland Fire Department.
The Branch County Sheriff's Department says Kiomento was released after being able to post a $25,000 bond. Branch County District Court personnel say Kiomento is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing on July 25.
