Sturgis Police Investigating Possible Human Skeletal Remains

(STURGIS) – Sturgis Police are investigating possible human skeletal remains found just south of the city.

Director of Public Safety Geoffrey Smith says his department was contacted around 11 AM Tuesday about some possible human skeletal remains found in the area of South Nottawa and Bogen Roads. The area is secured and an investigation is underway.

Michigan State Police Crime Lab personnel along with the Western Michigan University Anthropology Unit are assisting in the investigation.

Smith says updates will be provided when available.
