Eastwood School Named Lighthouse School

(STURGIS) – Eastwood School has earned a special designation.

During Monday's segment of “Trojan Talk” on WBET, it was announced that Eastwood has been named a Lighthouse School. This goes in correlation with Eastwood being a Leader In Me School. The school, and others in the district have adopted the Steven Covey “Seven Habits” program and are teaching those principals to their students.

Eastwood has been using the Leader In Me program for five years. Principal Mike Miller shares a little about the process that led to the Lighthouse School designation. ...... {LISTEN}.

Miller says this is a special designation for Eastwood. ...... {LISTEN}.

During Monday's Sturgis Board of Education meeting, Superintendent Art Ebert told the Board about Eastwood being named a Lighthouse School. He says this is a two year designation for Eastwood and that they can re-apply for the certification in 2021.
