(THREE RIVERS) – The Three Rivers Health Foundation 2019 fundraising campaign is underway.

David Casterline, Executive Director of the Three Rivers Health Foundation, says they will target the purchase of two pieces of medical equipment in support of helping to advance Three Rivers Health. They want to purchase a laparoscopic piece for surgeries and an echo cardio ultrasound system.

Casterline points out that this is critical to the ongoing success of Three Rivers Health to remain on the cutting edge of medical equipment technology to best service its many customers.

The laparoscopic piece will allow surgeons to perform less invasive surgery on patients, as opposed to open surgery. The equipment will be used to perform procedures which includes a scope with a light source and camera on the front with a video monitor. By doing a less invasive procedure, it is lower risk for the patient and allows for a much faster recovery time.

The echo cardio system is a dedicated ultrasound system that offers a wide range of 2D and 3D transthoracic and transesophageal echo imaging. It delivers exceptional image quality and significant advances seeking to address the strains of today's overburdened staff and health care systems. It also produces outstanding exam efficiencies for diagnoses or interventional procedures.

Casterline says the Foundation Board is committed to excellence in health care, and will help to take Three Rivers Health to a new level through the help of a great community.
