(LAGRANGE) – It's been two years since fire took out a quarter block in downtown LaGrange where the Family Dollar store and other businesses once stood.

While the debris has been cleaned up, the bill for that clean up has not yet been paid, and a large hole remains.

LaGrange Town Board President Ray Hoover says they've done all they can do. They have worked with their lawyer and private industries. Hoover says they want the hole filled as bad as anyone else.

Town Attorney Bill Eberhard doesn't think a shortfall of insurance coverage is the issue. He says the money is there, it's just a matter of how it is split between the expenses.

For now a FOR SALE sign remains at the site.
