By: Tim Murray - Tuesday, September 24, 2019

(INDIANAPOLIS) – It looks like Indiana's July unemployment increases were just temporary.

The Department of Workforce Development released the county jobless rates on Monday that showed all five counties in Northeast Indiana were down significantly.

LaGrange County fell from 3.3% in July to 2.7% in August as the workforce contracted by almost 400 persons. The number of jobless persons also dropped by 125. That puts the County about where it was a year ago when unemployment was 2.8%.

Elkhart County went from 3.6% to 3%. Noble County dropped from 3.8% to 3%. Steuben County went down from 2.8% to 2.6% and DeKalb County from 3.1% to 2.7%.
