(BRONSON) – Travel along U.S. 12 between eastern St. Joseph County and just east of Bronson will be slowed down for the next few weeks.

Starting Monday, September 30, the Michigan Department of Transportation will be resurfacing the highway from St. Joseph Road at the St. Joseph and Branch County line, east to Wayne Street on the east side of Bronson.

Nick Schirripa with the MDOT Office Of Communications says the $2 million investment will include sidewalks, ramp upgrades and new pavement markings. The new pavement will extend the life of the road, improve safety and create a smooth surface for motorists.

There will be single lane closures with traffic regulators.

The project should be finished by November 15.
