(HAMILTON) – A Sturgis woman was killed in a crash in Northeast Indiana.

According to the Fort Wayne Journal Gazette, the DeKalb County Sheriff's Department says 43 year old Pasty M. Burton was driving a pickup north along County Road 61 near County Road 4 in Hamilton around 9:30 PM Tuesday when the vehicle ran off the road.

Deputies say it appears Burton lost control and hit several trees before landing in a ditch upside down. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident remains under investigation.
