(STURGIS) – There will be a few extra activities this week for Sturgis High School students as Homecoming Week gets underway.

The Homecoming festivities were supposed to start on Sunday with the Powder Puff football games, but they were canceled due to the weather. Organizers are hoping to reschedule the games for later this week.

Today's events for all classes include dress up day: college day.

This year's Homecoming Queen Court is made up of Rowan Klar, Sage Groves, Rachel Toner, Lexi Airgood, Ella Bright, Paige Pattison, Gracey Smith and Audrey Harper.

Homecoming King candidates are Luke Larimer, Kenny Garcia, Christian Rooyakkers, Angel Gomez, Pedro Guzman, Tyler Swett, Chris Gonzalez and Derek Garmire. The winners will be announced at halftime of this Friday's football game. The game will start at 5 PM on Friday, due to the continued advisory regarding Eastern Equine Encephalitis.

In addition there will be no Homecoming parade on Friday. Floats will be displayed in their usual spot on the grass east of the south parking lot at the High School.
