(LAGRANGE) - LaGrange County Sheriff Jeff Campos got a first-hand look at 40 miles of U.S.–Mexican border recently.

Campos was one of six Indiana sheriffs to attend the Southwest Border Sheriff’s Fall conference along with the Texas Border Sheriffs in Tucson, Arizona.

They went on a ten hour inspection tour of the border to educate themselves on the importance of border security as it effects public safety, national security and human rights.

The trip focused on training topics and education to understand the border situation.
