Bruce Caswell To Serve As Bronson Interim Superintendent

(BRONSON) – Bronson Community Schools are starting the process of finding a new Superintendent.

During a special meeting Thursday night, the Board approved the resignation of Superintendent Rick Hilderly. He informed the School District and the Community that on September 28 he was hired to be the Superintendent of the Tecumseh School District. Before coming to Bronson two years ago, Hilderly had been a teacher and building principal in the Tecumseh Schools.

School Board President Janet Byler said she contacted different organizations to get the names of some possible interim Superintendent candidates. She said she finally contacted one person who said they would be willing to serve in that capacity. ...... {LISTEN}.

Caswell is a former teacher who later served as the Superintendent of the Pittsford School System. He was also hired by the State of Michigan to be the Superintendent of the Albion School District.

He also served in the Michigan House of Representatives and the Michigan Senate.

The Board voted to hire Caswell to serve as interim Superintendent as a cost of $400 per day.

In other business, the Board discussed who they should use to help them find their next Superintendent. Byler shared some background on who the District has used before. ...... {LISTEN}.

The Board voted unanimously to go with MASB to help them in their search. Byler says they hope to have someone hired by the second week of January, 2020.
