(COLDWATER) – A former Athens teacher already serving time on charges from Calhoun County, will have his Branch County case moved along.

Branch County Circuit Court officials say 31 year old Tyler Millward waived his preliminary hearing on Wednesday in Branch County District Court. He is facing four counts of third degree criminal sexual conduct in connection with alleged sexual incidents that happened in Sherwood Township with a student.

Millward was found guilty in April in Calhoun County for third degree criminal sexual conduct, bribing or intimidating a witness, lying to a peace officer and using a computer to commit a crime. He was sentenced to 7 to 20 years on those charges, and is serving his time at the Lakeland Correctional Facility in Coldwater.

Millward was accused of having an affair in June 2017 with a then 16 year old student. The affair lasted several months, with the student becoming pregnant and having a child.

Millward is scheduled to have a pre-trial conference on the Branch County charges on January 31.
