Attempted Robbery Of Glen Oaks ATM

(CENTREVILLE) – Two teenagers were apprehended for trying to break into an ATM at Glen Oaks Community College.

St. Joseph County Sheriff Brad Balk says his deputies reported to Glen Oaks on December 13 for a report of a disorderly subject. When the officers arrived, they found the college had been broken into. While clearing the building, it was discovered the subjects had attempted to break into an ATM inside the school by cutting into the safe.

A 17 year old Sturgis Township resident was taken to the St. Joseph County Jail. A 16 year old subject was released to his parents pending a review in Juvenile Court.

Both teens face multiple felonies including bank, safe and vault robbery; breaking and entering; and unlawful driving away of an automobile.

Assisting deputies were the White Pigeon and Colon Police Departments and the Glen Oaks Community College Staff.
