(COLDWATER TOWNSHIP) – A mother and her daughter were injured in a two vehicle crash in Branch County's Coldwater Township on Wednesday.

Michigan State Police say a 46 year old woman was driving east on Newton Road in a minivan and pulled into the path of a pick up that was southbound on North Michigan Avenue.

The pick up struck the mini van on the driver's side door and back seat. Both doors were ripped off the vehicle on impact. The automobiles came to rest in a field on the southeast side of the intersection.

Both the woman and her daughter received serious injuries and were taken to ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital. The driver of the pick up was not injured.

Assisting troopers were the Coldwater Police And Fire Departments, the Branch County Road Commission and Life Care Ambulance.
