(STURGIS) – If you saw a giant hog north of downtown Sturgis Wednesday afternoon, you were not imagining it.

The 18 foot hog is the symbol used by the group Don't Touch The Term Limits, started by Grand Rapids resident Scott Tillman. Tillman's father Jeff brought the hog to Sturgis along with other Southwest Michigan communities, and explains the reason for his visit. ...... {LISTEN}.

Michigan residents in 1992 with 59% of the vote passed the amendment that created term limits in the Michigan House and Senate. Under that amendment, six years is the maximum that a person can serve in the Michigan House of Representative and 8 years for the Michigan Senate. According to a poll conducted by Pulse Research, 69% of Michigan voters oppose a change to term limits.

Tillman says the State needs to continue with the term limits as is and have citizen legislators instead of career politicians. He also took the pig to New Buffalo, Niles, and Three Rivers on Wednesday before heading to Battle Creek where President Donald Trump was speaking.
