Vehicle Crash Leads To Arrest

(STURGIS) – A weekend incident led to the arrest of one person.

Sturgis Police were called to the 100 block of Susan Avenue Sunday morning for a one vehicle crash. The driver of the automobile tried to flee the scene, but was apprehended a short distance away.

Further investigation by police determined the vehicle had been stolen from a business in the 600 block of West Fawn River Road.

The driver, a 37 year old Three Rivers man, was charged with a third offense of operating while intoxicated, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, a third offense of driving while license suspended, motor vehicle theft and for having three outstanding warrants out of St. Joseph County.

He was taken to the St. Joseph County Jail in Centreville.
