(STURGIS) – Sturgis Public School students received a bit of a surprise when they returned to classes Monday following Christmas break.

At 8:30 AM, the new Sturgis Trojan logo were revealed through two different videos, one on Facebook and the other on Twitter. The videos used the words from the Sturgis High School fight song, performed by SHS graduate Brenno Aquino.

Throughout the design process a team of students, staff and alumni worked with Hype Brand Management of Sturgis to design a logo unique to Sturgis. Additionally, historical research was gathered about past Sturgis logos, school colors and traditions which informed the design.

The new Sturgis Trojan logo features a traditional Trojan silhouette with a modern and aggressive look.

Window stickers are being handed out around Sturgis. Ebert says several different logo designs were created for use by the school district.
