(LAGRANGE) - The LaGrange County Council voted to retain the current leadership when it met Monday morning.
That means Peter Cook will remain President of the Council and Mike Strawser will remain Vice-President.
Council members voted to keep their current budget liaison and committee assignments for the year.
They approved salary changes in the sheriff’s office for a patrol sergeant to increase their pay to the detective sergeant’s level. They agreed to eliminate a position of deputy IDACS coordinator in the communications division and raise one deputy coordinator to the coordinator position.
And they raised the pay for a new full time building inspector position approved last fall so that it equals the current full time inspector. It was done to reflect the experience of the person being hired to fill that position.
Council approved budget transfers for the health department and the IT department.
It delayed action on a request for additional appropriation from the sheriff.
