(STURGIS) – The City of Sturgis is asking residents to consider a different way to pay their bills.

During a recent City Commission meeting, City Clerk Ken Rhodes says close to 1,000 people come to their department each week to pay their utility bills. However, the City offices are now closed to the public due to the coronavirus situation, which means people can not come in and take care of those payments face to face.

Rhodes is encouraging people to take advantage of a program that has been around for many years to pay their utility bills. ...... {LISTEN}.

Rhodes says this would be another option for people to take care of their utility bills. ...... {LISTEN}.

Rhodes suggested, and the City Commission agreed, to recommend a one time credit of 10 dollars for each new enrollment in the automatic bill pay through April 30.

If you would like to sign up for the automatic bill payment program, you can either call the Clerk's Office at 269-659-7229 or go on line to the city website. Click Here.
