Five New Cases Of Coronavirus In Southern Michigan

(UNDATED) – There were five new cases of coronavirus detected in Southern Michigan from Tuesday to Wednesday.

The Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency is reporting that 4 new cases of COVID-19 have been detected in St. Joseph County. That brings the number of cases in the county to 76, along with 1 death.

No new cases were reported in Branch County, which means 82 people have tested positive for the coronavirus, and 2 people have died. Hillsdale County also has no new cases. 152 residents have been diagnosed with COVID-19 and 22 people have died.

The Michigan Department of Corrections says no new cases of coronavirus have been reported at the Lakeland Correctional Facility in Coldwater. There are 791 inmates and 34 staff members who have tested positive, while 20 inmates have died from the virus.

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services says that Cass County has 1 new case of COVID-19, bringing the total number of people with the virus to 44. There have been 2 deaths.

Around Michigan, 370 new cases have been detected, making 48,391 people who have coronavirus. There have also been 40 more people who have died, bringing the total number of deaths in Michigan to 4,714.
