Authorities Say 33 New COVID-19 Cases In Northeast Indiana

(INDIANAPOLIS) – Authorities say 33 new cases of COVID-19 have been detected in Northeast Indiana from Tuesday to Wednesday.

The Indiana State Department of Health says no new cases of coronavirus have been reported in LaGrange County. 41 people have tested positive for the virus and there have been 2 deaths.

Six new cases of COVID-19 have been detected in Noble County, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 142. There was also another death reported, which means 17 people in Noble County have died from coronavirus. Steuben County has 2 new cases, which brings the total number of people infected to 54. 2 people have died in Steuben County from COVID-19.

DeKalb County no new cases, holding their number of people infected with the coronavirus to 24. There has been 1 death in the county. Elkhart County is reporting 24 new cases of COVID-19. There are now 549 residents who have tested positive. 21 people have passed away from the coronavirus in Elkhart County.

Across Indiana, 409 new cases have been reported of COVID-19, making 25,473 people who have been infected. There were also 38 more people who have died from the virus, which means 1,482 people around the Hoosier State have passed away.

The State Department of Health says 4,259 new COVID-19 tests have been given in Indiana. 154,083 people have been tested with 16.5 percent of the tests coming back positive.
