Southern Michigan Has 15 New Coronavirus Cases

(UNDATED) – There are 15 new cases of coronavirus in Southern Michigan from Thursday to Friday.

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services says St. Joseph County has 2 new cases of the virus. That makes 82 people who have COVID-19 and 1 person who has died.

Branch County has 2 new cases, which means 92 people have coronavirus and 2 people have passed away. Hillsdale County has 7 new cases. Currently 162 people have tested positive for the virus, while 22 have died. Cass County has 4 new cases of COVID-19. 50 county residents have the virus and 2 people have died.

The Michigan Department of Corrections says there were no new cases of coronavirus at the Lakeland Correctional Facility in Coldwater. There are 791 inmates and 34 staff members who have tested positive, while 20 inmates have died from the virus.

Statewide, 497 new COVID-19 cases were reported. The brings the total number of Michiganders that have tested positive to 50,079. There were 38 more people who died from the virus, which makes 4,825 people who have passed away.
