More New Cases Of COVID-19 In NE Indiana Over The Weekend

(INDIANAPOLIS) – Several new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Northeast Indiana over the weekend.

The Indiana State Department of Health says there was 1 new case of coronavirus in LaGrange County, which makes 49 people who have the virus. There has been 1 death in the county.

Noble County has 5 new cases of the virus from Friday to Sunday. That means 152 county residents have COVID-19. There has also been another death, bringing the total number of people who have died in the county to 20. Steuben County had no new cases of COVID-19 over the weekend. There are 65 people who have tested positive and 2 people who have died.

In DeKalb County, 1 new case of coronavirus has been reported, which brings the total number of people who have tested positive to 26. There has been 1 death as well. Elkhart County has 59 new cases, which means 668 people have COVID-19. There was also another death, meaning 23 people have died from the virus.

Statewide, there were 1,167 new cases of coronavirus reported from Friday to Sunday. That brings the total number of people infected to 27,778. There were also 57 more people who have died from COVID-19, which means 1,607 people who have died.

The State Department of Health is reporting that over the weekend, there have been 11,919 new COVID-19 tests given. That makes 177,243 tests have been given around the State, with 15.7 percent of the tests coming back as positive.
