(WOLCOTTVILLE) – A firefighter was injured while battling a blaze at a Wolcottville restaurant Saturday evening.

Representatives with the Beauty and the Bull Bar and Grill shared on their Facebook page that they had to close down at 6 PM Saturday. One of their main breakers blew, which left them without power. The owners called in a crew to fix the problem when an electrical fire started.

The Topeka Volunteer Fire Department was the first to arrive on scene and started fighting the fire. The Johnson Township and Orange Township Fire Departments were also called in to provide mutual aid.

While conducting interior operations, two Topeka firefighters became trapped in the attic, after the fire flashed and cutoff their egress path.

The firefighters sent out a mayday call. Their co-workers were able to locate them from below, pull the ceiling out and remove them. One of the two men was taken to an Indianapolis hospital where he is recovering. The names of the two men have not been released.

Also assisting at the scene were the LaGrange County Sheriff's Department, Parkview EMS, and LaGrange County Dispatch.
