(CENTREVILLE) – The St. Joseph County Commission heard from a citizen regarding a letter asking for the resignation of County Prosecutor John
McDonough.

During Tuesday's meeting, Tadd Davis of Colon Township shared that he was one of the citizens that signed a letter sent to the Commission asking for them to ask for the resignation of McDonough by an official resolution.

The Commission did not discuss the matter during Tuesday's meeting. Davis asked what he and the individuals who signed the letter would like them to do. ...... {LISTEN}.

Davis says there are other residents in the county who didn't sign the letter but also want to see a change. ...... {LISTEN}.

The letter specifically sited several reasons they wanted to see McDonough resign, including his habitual lack of attendance at his workplace for the last several years, which has resulted in a catastrophic backlog of criminal cases.

Commission Chairman Dennis Allen says they will put the matter on the agenda for the next Executive Committee meeting on July 29.
