(ANGOLA) – The Angola Common Council approved a fire protection and emergency services agreement Monday evening.

The Council approved a Pleasant Township Fire Protection and Emergency Services Agreement which will become effective on January 1 of 2021 and run through December 31, 2030. The agreement will be for $571,000 in 2021 and $696,000 in 2022.

Subsequent years will be based on the allocation of city fire services based on net assessed value.

The agreement will provide much needed fire protection to lake residents in the area. The Pleasant Township Board will throw in an additional $300,000 to provide an additional fire truck.
