Centreville Holds H.S. Graduation At Fairgrounds

(CENTREVILLE) – COVID-19 has stopped many schools in Michigan from holding high school graduation ceremonies in 2020.

Centreville High School held their graduation Sunday, 65 days after it was originally scheduled to happen. Because of the restrictions imposed by Governor Gretchen Whitmer's Executive Order, Centreville held their graduation at the St. Joseph County Fairgrounds. The Class of 2020 was on the grandstand stage while family members parked behind the stage and heard the ceremony broadcast on Fox Sports Radio 1230.

Isabel Stauffer, Vice President for the Class of 2020, addressed her classmates, saying what she was going to share is not what she wrote three months ago. She said the last few months did not generate the memories they were prepared to cherish. ...... {LISTEN}.

Stauffer said she and her classmates did learn from the pandemic. ...... {LISTEN}.

The ceremony also recognized students involved in Youth In Government; the National Honor Society; the Academic Awards; the Athletic Awards and the Bulldog PRIDE Award given by Principal Chad Brady.
