(NOTTAWA) – Michigan State House candidate Larry Walton has received another endorsement.

Walton, of Nottawa, has received the “Friend of Corn” designation and endorsement from the Michigan Corn Growers Association. Walton is seeking the Republican nomination for the 59th District seat in the Michigan House of Representatives.

The Friends of Corn Political Action Committee is a grassroots organization of corn growers which endorses candidates who demonstrate strong support for Michigan’s agriculture sector and support policies that are important to the continued growth of the corn industry. Corn is one of Michigan's largest agricultural commodities and a major driver of the state's economy.

Walton's history with the organization goes back 25 years. In 1995, Walton along with his father and brother competed and won second place in the “Irrigated Corn” class of the National Corn Growers Association contest.

Walton Farms is MAEAP verified. That's a voluntary statewide system that oversees and analyzes farm practices for environmental conscientiousness. He has also participated in numerous NRCS programs that have encouraged and supported a wide range of conservation practices.
