Marvin, Lillywhite And Humphreys Win Primary Races

(CENTREVILLE) – St. Joseph County will have a new Prosecuting Attorney and Treasurer in 2021.

During Tuesday's Primary Election, County residents nominated David Marvin to be the Republican candidate for Prosecutor in November. He received 7,994 votes, beating three time incumbent Prosecutor John McDonough who received 1,735 votes.

There were no Democratic candidates on the Primary ballot.

In the race for the Republican nomination for St. Joseph County Sheriff, interim Sheriff Mark Lillywhite defeated challenger Gordon Evilsizor 8,149 to 1,765. No Democratic candidates were on the ballot.

Two candidates were seeking the Republican nomination to run for the position of St. Joseph County Treasurer. Kathy Humphreys defeated Tammy Rigby 4,930 to 4,500. There were no Democratic candidates on the ballot.

In addition, incumbent County Clerk and Register of Deeds Lindsay Oswald received the Republican nomination to seek re-election with 8,722 votes. Also, incumbent Drain Commissioner Jeff Wenzel was nominated to run for re-election on the Republican ticket with 8,710 votes and County Surveyor David Mostrom received 8,314 votes to run for re-election on the Republican ballot.

No Democratic candidates were on the Primary ballot for those positions.
