(CENTREVILLE) – Centreville Public Schools have announced that a student at the Jr/Sr High School has tested positive for COVID-19.

Centreville Superintendent Stephanie Lemmer sent out a letter to parents in the School District, and also posted it to the District's website. The letter says the District received word of the positive test, which means the student will have to be isolated. Anyone who was in close contact will have to be quarantined for 14 days according to the CHA.

Lemmer says they consulted with the CHA, interviewed staff and have determined who has been in close contact with the student. The physical spaces have, and will continue to be deeply cleaned.

Lemmer says Centreville Schools have thoroughly prepared for multiple scenarios and are ready to take the necessary steps for the safety and health concerns of their students, staff and community, while meeting the recommendations of the Center for Disease Control and the local CHA.

Lemmer says the School District will continue to communicate with the community and operate using all of their processes to mitigate the impact of COVID-19.
