Fremont Football Team Quarantined, Canceling Two Games
By: Mike Stiles - Wednesday, September 30, 2020

(FREMONT) – The Fremont varsity football team is going to be taking time off of the field, but not by their own choice.

Fremont Athletic Director Roger Probst says the varsity football team, which includes the players, coaches and managers, are being quarantined until October 8, because of a positive COVID-19 test with someone associated with the team.

Probst says that means the varsity football games with Eastside on October 2 and Prairie Heights on October 9 have been canceled.

If everyone progresses as planned, and allowing for IHSAA guidelines, Probst says the Eagles will be able to play their last game of the regular season with Wes Del on October 16 at Fremont. The team will also be able to play in the post-season.

Fremont is currently 2-3 on the season.

Prairie Heights Athletic Director Brent Byler says the Panthers will now play Heritage on October 9.
