(UNDATED) – A Friday morning crash injured an Elkhart man.

The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office says 40 year old Melvin Schrock II was driving east on Jackson Boulevard just east of Middleton Run Road at 11:25 AM Friday when he went off the south side of the road, striking a mailbox that had a large cement base.

Schrock complained of shoulder and rib pain and was taken to Elkhart General Hospital to be treated.
