Authorities Searching For Suspect Following Chase

(GILEAD TOWNSHIP) – Authorities are searching for a suspect following a chase that happened Sunday morning.

According to the Branch County Sheriff's Department, deputies attempted to stop a vehicle at 10:48 AM Sunday on Bowers Road south of Southern Road. The vehicle fled from deputies, and headed south into Indiana.

Deputies say the suspect vehicle crashed in Steuben County at the intersection of 800 West and 150 North, near the Steuben Lakes Wastewater Treatment Plant. The driver and passenger ran away, but the passenger, 32 year old Jamie Prater of Hudson, Indiana, was captured and taken to the Steuben County Jail.

Authorities have identified the driver as 50 year old Steven Gose of Kendallville. He was recently released from the Indiana Department of Corrections after being arrested for felony charges of domestic violence with strangulation and for being a habitual offender.

If anyone has information about Gose, they are asked to call their local law enforcement agency.

LaGrange County Sheriff's Department, the Steuben County Sheriff's Department and the Indiana State Police.
