(LAGRANGE) – Two Orland residents were killed in a two vehicle crash west of LaGrange.

The LaGrange County Sheriff's Department says at 1:46 PM Monday, a vehicle driven by 57 year old Craig Wilson of Sturgis was driving west on U.S. 20 and approaching the intersection of County Road 250 West. A second vehicle driven by 79 year old Robert Hedges of Orland was sitting at the stop sign of the intersection when for an unknown reason, he pulled out in front of Wilson's vehicle and they collided.

Witnesses told deputies that the Hedges vehicle had come to a complete stop and then entered the intersection in front of Wilson.

Both Hedges and his passenger, 77 year old Barbara Hedges of Orland died from their injuries.

Wilson was taken to Parkview LaGrange Hospital to be treated for his injuries. Both of the Hedges were wearing their safety belts at the time of the crash, which is still under investigation.
