(POKAGON TOWNSHIP) – Five people have been arrested on drug and weapons related charges following an investigation.

The Cass County Drug Enforcement Team says on Thursday they executed a search warrant in the 30,000 block of Edwards Street in Pokagon Township. Detectives detained several individual inside the residence.

During their search, officers located methamphetamine, meth paraphernalia, heroin, heroin paraphernalia, illegal firearms and stolen motor vehicles.

A 28 year old man was arrested for being a felon in possession of a firearm and for outstanding warrants. A 30 year old woman was arrested for possession of meth. Another 28 year old man was charged with possession of meth, and a 31 year old man was charged with felon in possession of a firearm and maintaining a drug house.

A second 31 year old man was arrested for being a felon in possession of a firearm.

The individual's names have not been released, pending their arraignment in Cass County District Court.

Assisting at the scene were the Cass County Sheriff's Office, the Cass County Warrant Service Team, the Dowagiac Police Department along with K-9 Officer Tole, the Pokagon Tribal Police and the Cass County Felony Detectives.

The case is still under investigation.
