(LOCKPORT TOWNSHIP) Authorities are investigating an armed robbery that happened in Lockport Township.

St. Joseph County Sheriff Mark Lillywhite says at 2:19 Friday morning his deputies along with the Three Rivers Police were called to North Main Street to investigate an armed robbery.

The victim says he was in his vehicle and approached by a black man in his 30's with scraggly facial hair. The suspect displayed a pistol and demanded the victim's wallet. The suspect then left the area in an early 2000's model, dark colored four door sedan. The vehicle was heading south on Main Street near 4th Street.
