(JEFFERSON TOWNSHIP) – One person was injured in a two vehicle crash in Cass County's Jefferson Township.

The Cass County Sheriff's Department responded to a two vehicle crash on M-62 and Brownsville Street just before 12:30 PM Saturday. Deputies say 65 year old Mohdjamal Al-Khalil of South Bend failed to yield the right of way to another vehicle at the intersection of M-62 and Brownsville Street. The second vehicle was driven by 64 year old Thomas Poling of Dowagiac.

Poling was transported to the hospital for treatment of his injuries. Al-Khalil was not injured. Both men were wearing their seat belts.

The Cassopolis Area Fire Department and Pride Care Ambulance assisted deputies at the scene.
