Centreville Schools To Remain Virtual Until Jan. 4
By: Mike Stiles - Thursday, December 10, 2020

(CENTREVILLE) – Centreville Public Schools will continue with remote learning for their students until January 4.

In a letter sent out to parents in the District and posted on the School's website, Centreville Superintendent Stephanie Lemmer says with the community spread of COVID-19 and staffing factors at their school buildings in mind, the difficult decision was made to continue suspending in person learning for all K-12 students. It is their intention to resume in person learning on January 4.

Lemmer says Centreville will continue to have limited staff in each building to respond to issues and questions that arise during this time. School buildings will be accessible to staff, EL students, Special Education students and students with no home internet service on a limited basis.

Lemmer says the District understands the hardship that school closure places on families, as well as the social and emotional impact it may have on their students. She says they will continue to provide the support necessary for all Centreville students to be successful.

Lemmer says in addition, sports and extracurricular activities have also been suspended until at least December 20.

There will be weekly food distribution on December 16 and December 23 from 2 until 4 PM at Centreville High School.
