(HOWARD TOWNSHIP) – Two people were injured in a one vehicle crash in Cass County's Howard Township.

Sheriff Richard Behnke says at 5:39 AM Saturday, 20 year old Corrin Adamo of South Bend was driving on Pine Lake Street near M-60 and went off the roadway, striking a tree. Miss Adamo was taken to Borgess Hospital Dowagiac to be treated for her injuries.

A passenger in the vehicle, 19 year old Tajaun Reed of Dowagiac, was taken to Lakeland Hospital in Niles for treatment of minor injuries.

Both individuals were wearing their seat belts. Intoxicating substances are believed to have been a factor in the crash, which is still under investigation.

The Howard Township Fire Department and the SMCAS Ambulance also helped at the scene.
