NE Indiana Jobless Rates Steady In March

(INDIANA) – There was little change in the jobless rates in NE Indiana from February to March.

According to information released by the Indiana Department of Workforce Development, LaGrange County saw a slight increase from 2.9 percent to an even 3 percent. LaGrange is tied with Daviess and Adams Counties at 3 percent, for the lowest jobless rate in Indiana.

Steuben County also saw a small increase in their jobless rate, going from 3.5 percent in February to 3.7 percent in March.

Elkhart County saw no change in their jobless rate from February to March, staying at 3.5 percent. Also remaining unchanged were Noble County, which stayed at 4.2 percent and DeKalb County, which held at 3.7 percent.

Statewide the jobless rate for March was 4.7 percent, which is unchanged from February. That's lower than the national jobless rate for March which was at 6.2 percent.
