(NEWBERG TOWNSHIP) – A one vehicle crash sent an Ypsilanti woman to the hospital.
Cass County Sheriff Richard Behnke says his department was called to M-60 just west of Timberlane Drive in Newberg Township at 5:47 AM Sunday. Deputies say an eastbound semi-tractor trailer went off the south side of the road and crashed, spilling 100 gallons of fuel and oil.
The driver, 50 year old Katharine Marie Aris was driving to Detroit when she told deputies she fell asleep. Aris was taken to a Kalamazoo hospital to be treated for her injuries.
She was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash, which remains under investigation. Assisting at the scene were the Newberg Fire and Ambulance and Life Care Ambulance.
