(STURGIS) – The Sturgis Board of Education is in favor of a county wide CTE Millage.
During last night's study session, the Board of Education was presented with a motion to approve or say no to the CTE millage proposal that the St. Joseph County ISD has been talking about for the last year.
During an earlier meeting, ISD Superintendent Dr. Theresa Belote gave an update to the Sturgis School Board on where they were at with the CTE millage proposal. She shared the proposal would be for one mill for ten years for equipment and programs, not for a building.
Sturgis Superintendent Dr. Art Ebert shared that Belote was either looking for support or no support of the millage proposal so the ISD can decide what they need to do.
The Board of Education voted 6-0 to support the proposed millage. Other school districts will also be asked to vote on whether they will support the initiative or not.
