(CASSOPOLIS) – A special presentation has been given to Cass County K-9 Bloodhound Nellie.
Sheriff Richard Behnke says Scott Williams, Supervisor of the Woodlands Mental Health Employment Services, presented a check to Deputy Graves for the Bloodhound Nellie Fund. The Woodlands' employees have a Casual For A Cause fund, and each year the staff votes on who to make a donation to. This year they decided to donate money to Nellie.
Deputy Graves and Nellie have worked with the Woodlands staff throughout the year, preparing them for threat responses, acts of violence and active shooter training. Woodlands employees say Nellie is a welcome distraction with her gentle and affectionate comfort during stressful subjects.
Behnke and Deputy Graves are grateful for this donation to assist with the non budget related items needed to keep Nellie safe and equipped.
