Multiple Charges Filed In Incident

(CONSTANTINE TOWNSHIP) – Multiple charges have been filed against a man following an incident in Constantine Township.

St. Joseph County Sheriff Brad Balk says deputies were sent to a home in the 62,000 block of Youngs Prairie Road in Constantine Township at 6:30 AM Wednesday to investigate a home invasion. Deputies arrested 31 year old Robert Brueck of Dearborn Heights.

The investigation revealed that Brueck forced his way into a home where he assaulted the residents with a knife and an ax. The residents called 911 and were able to hold off Brueck with baseball bats until the authorities arrived.

The two residents were transported to Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo where they were treated for serious wounds. Brueck was also taken to Borgess Medical Center where he was treated and released.

He was then arrested and taken to the St. Joseph County Jail on charges of attempted murder, possession of body armor and home invasion.
