(ANGOLA) – A former Fremont High School track coach will be spending two years behind bars.
On Monday, Moses Castillo was sentenced to two years in prison and four years probation after pleading guilty to one count of child seduction with one of the girls he coached. Castillo was facing five counts of felony child seduction after allegations surfaced of an inappropriate relationship with a student who was 17 at the time.
Authorities say the victim told them that Castillo told her not to tell anyone about what was happening between them. She also said that she tried to end the relationship with Castillo several times, but he would “guilt trip” her into staying.
Castillo resigned from his coaching position in December 2017. Once the school learned of the allegations, they said they contacted police.
Castillo was banned from school grounds and also instructed not to have any communication with Fremont Community Schools' students or staff.
