County Commission Approves AAA Implementation Plan

(CENTREVILLE) – St. Joseph County Commissioners have approved a plan for an organization that works with senior citizens.

Tuesday afternoon the Commission was presented with the Area Agency On Aging Region IIIC multi-year plan for fiscal years 2020 through 2022. In addition a fiscal year 2020 annual implementation plan and resolution was also brought before the Commission.

Laura Sutter says the Area Agency on Aging is the designated planning, administrative and advocacy organization established for Branch and St. Joseph Counties, which is Region IIIC.

Sutter says the plan's outline are funding, administrative, program development, targeting strategies, advocacy efforts and special projects for the next three years.

Sutter says the plan includes input from program participants, community advocates and key leaders. The plan is basically driven by those you may use the service or those who have governance or an engaged partner in the service delivery.

The Commission approved a resolution to send the plans on to the Michigan Commission On Services to the Aging for final review and approval.
