(STURGIS) – A familiar face is once again leading the Sturgis School District, but only for a short time.

Former Sturgis Public Schools Superintendent Rob Olsen is serving as the Interim Superintendent. He began his duties April 1 and will be on the job until June 30. Beginning July 1, Dr. Art Ebert will officially become Superintendent for Sturgis.

During Monday's Board of Education study session, Olsen shared what he will be focusing on during his time in Sturgis. ...... {LISTEN}.

Olsen says that part of his responsibilities will be to work with Ebert to help him transition into the Superintendent's position. ...... {LISTEN}.

Olsen served as the Sturgis Superintendent from 1998 through 2011 and says he is excited to have the opportunity to give back to the community during this transitional time.

Ebert has been with the West Bloomfield School District for the past 17 years, where he currently serves as the Deputy Superintendent. Ebert says he want to collectively build on what has been established in Sturgis and to further develop the focus necessary to position Sturgis to meet any and all challenges the future may hold.
