Bronson Police Issue Reminder About Junk Ordinance
Friday May 11, 2018 2:19pm
Bronson, MI

(BRONSON) – Property owners in Bronson are being reminded that as the weather warms up, they need to stay in compliance with local ordinances.

In a statement on their Facebook page, the Bronson Police Department says they are starting to make sure that properties in the City are in compliance, specifically those that deal with junk and unregistered or inoperable vehicles.

Bronson Police Chief Stephen Johnson says most of the violations they find are for scrap metal, old unused furniture, general trash, old appliances and unregistered vehicles on property.

Police are asking residents to inspect their property and remove any items that would be in violation of city ordinances. Johnson says he and his officers want to work with property owners to make sure they are in compliance, but the responsibility is with the property owner or the resident of the property.

If a violation should continue after notifications, Johnson says criminal prosecution could result.

If you have questions about the ordinance, you can find more information under the Code Of Ordinances line on the City's webpage. Click Here.
