(CENTREVILLE) – Glen Oaks Community College President Dr. David Devier has received high marks from the College's Board of Trustees.

Devier was evaluated on a scale of 1 to 5 on 48 specific performance expectations, which were divided among six broad categories covering fiscal management; external relations; internal relations; leadership; institutional performance; personal qualities and relations with the Board.

Board Chair Bruce Gosling says President Devier received an overall rating of 4.76, comparing favorable with the 2017 rating of 4.68. Gosling says under Devier's leadership during the last year, the school has addressed remodeling the Concourse and created a campaign to address many years of deffered maintenance and safety issues, along with updating aging education facilities.

In addition, Gosling says Devier has helped to create new programs to better serve the community and Glen Oaks is one of the few community colleges in Michigan to record increased enrollment.

The Board approved an increase to Devier's base salary and extended his contract through June 30, 2020.
