NBA:
LA Clippers 108, Detroit 95 – Lou Williams scored 26 points, and the Los Angeles Clippers handed Blake Griffin his first loss with the Pistons, beating Detroit 108-95 on Friday night. The Pistons had won five in a row, with Griffin playing in four of those games, but the Clippers still look OK after trading the star forward to Detroit last week.

Cleveland 123, Atlanta 107 – Lebron James had a triple-double and Korver scored a season-high 30 points, including four straight 3-pointers to close the third period, as the crisp Cavaliers beat the Atlanta Hawks 123-107 on Friday night for a successful start to their reboot.

Indiana 97, Boston 91 – Victor Oladipo scored 35 and helped steady the Pacers as they recovered from a late stumble and held off the Celtics 97-91 on Friday night.

Chicago 114, Minnesota 113 – Zach LaVine scored a season-high 35 points against his former team, and the Bulls spoiled Jimmy Butler's return to Chicago with a 114-113 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday night. Butler scored 38 to finish one shy of a season high. But the Bulls rallied from 17 down to snap a seven-game losing streak.

NY Islanders 7, Detroit 6 – Brock Nelson scored his third goal of the game 3:15 into overtime and New York Islanders, boosted by rookie Mathew Barzal's five assists, emerged with a wild 7-6 win over the Detroit Red Wings on Friday night.
